Whether you’ve just moved into a new home or you’ve been in your humble abobe forever, you’re probably facing a conundrum that most of us encounter; how to make it look new and fresh and invigorated without burning through cash.  Well, I’m going to show you, because it really is the little things in a home that make it pop and give it some designer edge. So lemme show you some ideas I’ve implemented at my place.

1. Make your front door fun!

Even if your entryway isn’t the most stylish zone of the home, you can still jazz it up with a fun doormat. There are loads on the market right now that don’t cost a bomb so you’ve got no excuse not to give one a go.

2. Plants around the House

I’m by no means a green thumb but I do like to sprinkle some indoor plants around the house. Cacti, succulents and mother in law’s tongue and the easiest varieties to keep alive, but if you’re not skilled in this department, go for a fake plant like this one.

3. Statement Art in Dining Room

It’s nice to put some art in your dining room that’s a bit of a talking point. Not only do you get to look at it over brekkie, but if you choose types that are detailed and interesting, it makes for a good talking point during a dinner party.

4. Well Cushioned Couches

People often ask how many cushions you should have on a sofa, and there’s no easy answer. It all depends on how you want the space to feel. More cushions feels cosier and relaxed, less can feel serious and more formal. Personally I think more is more, so don’t be afraid to pack them in.

5. Eye-catching entryway

Entryways and hallways are so often neglected, but they don’t have to be. Why not try a gallery wall down the length of a hallway, or at the very least throw in a slimline hall table and decorate around it to create some visual impact.

6. Pimped out Table Tops

Coffee and dining tables are prime real estate for styling, and if you’re struggling to figure out just how much to put on them, a tray is a nice way to contain your pieces. Fill it up with objects and varying heights and you’ll keep everything together, but looking amazing at the same time.

7. Punchy Tea Towels

Your everyday items can be fun as well, and teatowels are a prime example. Opt for some bright ones that contrast against your subdued kitchen, or try a tea towel with a fun slogan on it that means something to you!

8. Bathroom Vignettes

Don’t let your vanity top go without some style too. Styling up something as simple as a hand towel and some soaps is a great way to elevate the look of the space and make it feel more inviting.
